Post subject: Lidl yarn - help please
PostPosted: Mon Feb 08, 2010 12:36 pm Reply with quote

Hi everyone
I have just purchased 3 packs of yarn from my local Lidl store here in UK.
It is just called 'Colorado' Knitting yarn and there are 6 x 50g balls to a pack. There is no description as to the ply of the yarn accept that it is 100% cotton multi-coloured yarn with approx yardage = 85m per 50g ball.
The pack suggests size 3-4mm needles.

I have one pack orange/yellow mix, 1 pack light blue/grey mix and 1 pack pink/blue baby colours mix.

The packs were only £3.99 each so I thought it was well worth buying even though I haven't a clue what to knit with it.

I have looked on web for ideas and was disappointed to only find a few suggestions for knitting dish cloths with this yarn - apparently this is a big thing in the US.

I would be most grateful for any other suggestions for using the yarn.
Any thoughts?

Other things do do with cotton yarn might include baby bibs, small baby blankets, table runners or place mats, shopping bags, cosmetic bags, purses or hand bags.
Since cotton is not as stretchy as wool or as warming, socks or mittens or hats might not be the best idea, but a scarf or small shawl might be an idea as well.
