Here's some patterns I found for two needle socks:
http://www.lindascraftique.com/free/tnsocks.htm
http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/kp2.html

There's another one that comes up on www.knittingpatterncentral.com if you type in a search for 'socks' - it is a PDF file so I don't have a link to it, but it is on the first page.

When you are ready to try socks in the round, check out Silver's Sock Class: http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Start.htm. It's the best place to start for knitting in the round on socks!

Hi everyone, I'm Jen! I'm from a small town in GA. I'm going to be 25 in a couple of months. I'm an avid reader, love computers, and love learning how to do anything with my hands, b/c I can never keep still! lol
I've been knitting for about seven years now. I have just now gotten brave enough to learn knew stitches. So far I know knit, peal, knit two together, and yarn over. I'm pretty proud of myself! The more I learn, the more I want to learn more and more. I'm trying to get brave enough to do double pointed needles and and circulars. For my b-day, I plan on going to the arts and crafts stores in the next town over. Is there any books, pattern books, or supplies anyone would recommend that I buy? Thanks so much, I look forward to posting here, and getting to know all of ya'll!

I've been knitting for about 7 years now. I'm just now trying to learn new patterns. I want to try to knit a pair of socks, but the double pointed method looks kinda scary, and the circular needle method seems confusing(I'm hopeless, I know lol). I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a method that I can use using two standard knitting needles, until I can get my hands on some knitting books? Thanks so much for the help!!!

It’s interesting how people like to learn different ways. How did you learn your craft?

Years ago when I learnt crocheting, I did it by reading an old crocheting instructional book. I came across this book at a crafts fair, bought it because I needed something to read on the bus on the way home. I got so interested in it that before walking home from the bus stop, I stopped by the shops and bought my first crochet hook and some yarn. The rest is history. I loved it from day one.

Although my grandmother crocheted all the time, when she was alive I hadn’t really seen any interest in it. But now each time I crochet it reminds me of my grandmother and it makes me feel real good.

I have been asked to knit a sweater with a heart (5 inch) on the front and a peace sign on the back. The sweater is blue and the designs are cream. The gauge is 3 stiches per inch. It is a really soft baby alpaca yarn. Because the gauge is large, the edges of the the heart and peace sign are quite stair step looking and it bothers me. Is there a way to use an embroidery stitch or a crochet stitch to finish off the edges and give it a cleaner look. Thanks.
